about

portraitb-wWith a BA Hons in Graphic Design, Fiona pursued a career as a graphic designer and for many years ran a marketing & design agency.

Recently moved to Buxton ‘to live somewhere aesthetically pleasing’ she has rediscovered her more abstract and experimental sides.
Inspired to discover the ancient craft of wet felting she has created many pieces, from seascapes to scarves, cocoons to landscapes.
Using felting for the creative process is, in itself, both soothing and calming. With the natural environment always a source of inspiration the organic forms created demonstrate suppleness,
softness and lightness combined with rigidity, solidity and strength.
The fibres dictate many of the final shapes.
No one piece is ever alike. Fiona’s work is visceral, delicate, powerful.

Perfect to ‘live with’ in a contemporary habitat.

Fiona is an artist at The Green Man Gallery in Buxton Derbyshire and much of her work is on display there.
